Product Overview

The HM-BS2 from HM Instruments is an automatic closed-cup flash point tester for suitable petroleum products and chemical solvents. It heats the sample along the selected method profile, applies electric ignition near the expected flash point and captures the result when flash is detected.

Key Features

  • A 7-inch Android touchscreen displays real-time temperature curves and supports Chinese/English switching.
  • Automatic result capture and built-in thermal printing support routine test records.
  • An A-grade three-wire PT100 sensor provides temperature sensing with compensation.
  • Instrument self-checks cover the moving mechanism, ignition, printer and cooling fan.
  • Data export and eMMC-based storage support management of test records.

Applications

Use in petroleum, chemical, power-generation and research laboratories to characterize the flash point of compatible liquids using a closed-cup procedure. Select the method and expected flash-point setting for the material and specification in use.

Operation and Selection

The closed-cup configuration measures flash point; choose an open-cup model when the required result is an open-cup flash point or fire point. Set the expected flash point and test procedure before the run, use the prescribed sample amount and arrange ventilation and fire precautions suitable for heated flammable liquids.
